The wallhanging was inspired by a black and white photo of my parents (deceased). I applied pieces of fabric to a foundation of muslin and “threadpainted” the edges together. The theme of the competition at the NYQuilts! show was “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Something old- my parents age, my father’s plaid shirt which was made from a piece of one of his old shirts which was borrowed from a rag bag, and it is blue. Something new- this is the first pictorial wallhanging I ever made.
