Poseidon, God of the waters was an angry and jealous God, demanding extreme obeisance. He was also called the “Earth-shaker”. When offended or ignored, he supposedly struck the ground with his trident and caused chaotic springs, earthquakes, drownings, and shipwrecks.
Marilyn: These are all so awesome! I am a long-time student of QU and have taken your Realistic Portraits class twice… each time creating a pet portrait…cat first, and then dog. But I am also an avid student of Mythology, having conducted workshops and published a book of rather amatuer paintings of Goddesses in Women’s lives. I have long dreamed of doing a mythology quilt, but seeing yours makes me both more inspired and also afraid to try, as I know mine would be so far inferior to these exquisite pieces. I am planning to take your class once more this October, before QU ends. (So sad)… but I look forward to maybe giving this a try there. Thanks so much for your great classes and examples! ~Karin Weiss
